Well, after a wonderful semester in London I am finally back in Carrboro. My sister and I were quite lucky to be on literally the last plane out of Heathrow on December 18th before the entire airport shut down. For those of you who did not see, England got blitzkrieg by a snow storm. Unfortunately some of my comrades were trapped in cheery old England for a few days due to the winter weather. Before the inclement weather, my sister and I spent a few days around Cambridge and London as a last hurrah. The highlight was drinking pina coladas at Trader Vic’s- our hair was perfect!
So far break has been great. I’ve been visiting with my family, sleeping in my own bed, and dining at my old haunts, IP3 and Armadillo Grill. I am looking forward to going to the Nasher art museum in Durham, the Eric Carle and Leo Leoni exhibit in Raleigh, the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, and just kicking back and watching some good basketball and my beloved Iggles on their playoff run. Watching Iggles games in the middle of the day as opposed to at 1:15 am like I did in London just doesn’t feel the same. A lot of things don’t feel the same. My bed for instance. No longer do I have springs prodding my middle and lower back while my feet hang off the bottom of the mattress. The outside temperature is also not the same as it was in England. Apart from the six inches of snow last week we have had pretty warm, comparatively at least, weather. After a semester in London, if it is above 40 I consider it to be shorts and t-shirt appropriate. Writing this blog doesn’t feel right either. I have this denial of the fact that this will be my last London blog entry. However, we should not despair loyal readers. Luckily you have my Peru blog to look forward to in the upcoming weeks. And as a treat, in the meantime you can listen to this mixtape I made of some songs I’ve been listening to. My sister inspired me to create this and put it on the blog. A few weeks ago she uploaded one, and I knew that my playlist was significantly better than hers, so I thought I’d share it with you. (Please note that Daylight, Auditorium, Radio Daze, Daddy Fat Sax, Miley Cyrous, and Got It may not be suitable for delicate ears.) Hope that you have enjoyed London and that the mixtape entertains you. As always, thank you for reading my blog. Hope everyone had a happy holiday season and that 2011 treats you well!

Peace,
Moe Long
